What is the reason for the internal short circuit of the UPS power battery?
Reason for internal short circuit
1. The quality of the separator is poor or defective, causing the active substance of the electrode plate to pass through, resulting in virtual or direct contact between the positive and negative plates.
2. The displacement of the partition causes the positive and negative plates to connect.
3. The active substance on the electrode plate expands and falls off. Due to the excessive deposition of the fallen active substance, the lower or side edges of the positive and negative electrode plates come into contact with the sediment, resulting in the connection between the positive and negative electrode plates.
4. Conductive objects falling into the UPS power battery cause the positive and negative plates to connect.
5. The "lead current" formed during the welding of the electrode group is not completely removed, or there are "lead beans" between the positive and negative electrode plates during assembly, which damage the separator during the charging and discharging process and cause the positive and negative electrode plates to connect.
The short circuit phenomenon of lead-acid batteries is mainly manifested in the following aspects:
1. The open circuit voltage is low, and the closed circuit voltage (discharge) quickly reaches the termination voltage.
2. During high current discharge, the terminal voltage rapidly drops to zero.
3. When the circuit is open, the density of the electrolyte is very low, and in low-temperature environments, the electrolyte may freeze.
4. When charging, the voltage rises slowly and always remains low (sometimes drops to zero).
5. When charging, the temperature of the electrolyte rises very high and quickly.
6. When charging, the electrolyte density increases slowly or almost unchanged.
7. When charging, there are no bubbles or gas bubbles that appear very late.
